I know allot of people do not believe in :boere raad" and to try and ease the suspension never follow any boere raad which snuggest you poor something into your babies mouth. however my gran gave me some amazing advise. yes boere raad.
i understand stomach cramps are normal in the first 3 months but like us all moms we do not like it when our newborns scream the roof off the whole night because of cramps and you cant give them anything because their to young.
well if your baby has this problem with cramps and/or struggling to pass a stool but is not constipated try this: go and buy a bottle of Hercules Castor oil with orange flavor, heat it up a little bit and massage their belly downward. you can do this every time you change a nappy or just after a bath. i promise you the cramps will be MUCh better and they will pass a stool .
Never give castor oil in through the mouth. it is not recommended for babies. NOT.
just something to help some new moms who are pulling out their hair like i did the first 2 weeks
eks nie seker wat kan werk nie maar as jy eucalyptus olie in die hande kan kry by dischem of clicks kan jy dit in i humidifer sit of probeer bennits ezi breath. of albei kannie skade doen nie. dit maak dit bors baie goed oop
Any other moms use Vicks Vapor rub on LOs for nasal congestion? My LO has a runny nose that gets stuffy at night and he can't breathe through his nose so I've been using saline nasal spray + a tiny bit of vicks on the chest. He is 20 months old. It says on the tub not to use on children under 2 years old but I use only a tiny bit and he hasn't had any bad reaction to it. It seems to work and keeps his nose clear through the night. Is it bad to apply it on him as he isn't quite 2 yet and if so what else can I use that will last through the night? Illiadin works great but I don't like using medicated nose sprays unless really really needed as I've heard they can be addictive.
Hi, our daughter has eczema too and I have found her skin is much better since we stopped using disposable nappies and use cloth instead. Not gone completely but isn't round her bum any more, just behind her knees. Also, only Dove soap for washing. We use a great mixture of Nature Fresh First Aid Cream (natural product) and SBR repair cream (heavy duty moisturiser) to put on the dryness and have avoided using cortisone cream for months and months.
Have you tried an actual dermatologist? That might help.
Also, using a washball (either verimark or biowashball) instead of washing powder could also help. It has for us. Also great savings: lasts for 1000 washes, and the verimark one costs R55 from Pick n Pay. Works great.
