PNP or spar's one is very expensive. Buy it at a baking shop. Its much cheaper.

The clouring part is tricky. Do not use any liquid food colouring as it will make it sloppy. I use gel or powder colouring and knead it very well to get the right colour. Also before you roll out the fondant onto your cake, lay a thin layer of buttercream icing or apricot jam on the cake so the fondant stick to the cake. Afterwards DO NOT refrigerate :) so make sure your cake does not have a filling that needs refrigeration.

You should be able to buy Fondant icing at Spar or Pick n Pay. The one I get is made by Trumps and is called "Ready To Roll White Icing" and you can find it by the icing sugar, cake decorations etc. Usually next to the tub of marzipan.

I find it really easy to use. I usually have to knead it quite a bit, sometimes adding a bit of icing sugar if it is too sticky. When you roll it out, make sure the surface you roll on and the rolling pin are dusted with cornflour. Don't roll it too thin because then it will tear as you lift it, nor too thick because then it will be too heavy and thick :D You will figure it out. If you want to colour it, then powder colouring is best (baking and craft shops should stock it) If you google "decorating with fondant icing" you should get lots of pages with hints and help.

And yes, do a test run, its always nice to eat :D
