Anyone with experience on IUI??

We have done IUI and had a very positive experience - beautiful 16 month old girl!! We are trying for nr 2 now and I am going for 1st round next week.
My dr prescribed 2.5mg Femara on days 3 -7 of cycle. She does 2 x scans to check follicle size and then trigger on day 13 with Ovidrel. My IUI was back to back on day 14 and 15. We fell pregnant on 2nd round. My dr made us feel very comfortable, as it can be a very vulnerable procedure.

I'm also heard rumours that it can hurt! My FS (Fertility Spesialist) prescribed Femzole if I'm remembering correct, to use the first week before our scheduled IUI. Not sure about injections or anything yet. We will have to see when we get there, I guess. Being fully exposed is also not something I enjoy much. It makes you feel vulnerable and so exposed. It normally takes me a while to recover from that! lol!

The costs of IVF is something that scares us at the moment. Hubby has a genetic morphology problem, with less than 3% of his sperm being the right shape. I'm ok, apparently, just need to lose some weight. FS put hubby on sperm-i-prove to see if it will raise his count, which was at 15mill in July 2015, up from 13mill in Feb 2015 (He used staminogro during that time). We haven't done another sperm analysis yet to see if the sperm-i-prove has worked. We will see when we go for the IUI in December.

We are really hoping that we will fall pregnant naturally before December. But Only God knows the plans He has for us.

Hi there, I tried iui once only. Did injections with gonal f and then ovulation induction with ovitrelle. They did wash hubbies sperm I think that's standard. No success for me. The procedure is more painful than they tell you but not unbearable. You have to lie with your feet in stirrups and fully exposed. It made me feel quite vulnerable and emotional but over very quickly. I decided that due to cost vs success rate I'd rather save up for ivf. Also no success for me unfortunately. Very hard decision to make. Do you know the cause for your infertility?

Hi, girls

Hoping some of you might be able to shed some light on IUI's. Hubby and I are planning to go for our first IUI in December, if we do not conceive naturally before then,and we are, quite frankly, very scared and suspicious. It is a lot of money to invest, with very little guarantee.

Have you been for IUI? How was the experience? What medication did you use? Did they also wash hubby's sperm? Success rate? Pain? What can we expect?
