How have you all been? Any new BFP's I don't know about??
Apologies for the long silence. It's been a rough few months for hubby and I. Though I would give you an update.
We went to see a FS in Port Elizabeth in July and it came out that we have male factor infertility (genetic morphology problems) and I have PCOS. At least mine I can do something about, I guess. I was told to lose weight and get my hormones straigtened out. I apparently also had low levels of Vitamin D! Who knew Vitamin D was so important in the TTC Journey???
Well, I've lost 16kgs this year so far, so I'm making progress there. Hubby has been placed on Sperm-i-prove to see if we can dramatically increase his count - 2% of 40+ mill is much better than 2% of 15mill I suppose. We are also considering our first round of IUI in December, should we not conceive naturally during the next few months. Our first option would be to conceive naturally - It will save ALOT of costs!!
Well, I am starting with inofolic this week - It will help with hormones and insulin and weight loss, so I'm excited. Hoping it will help. It apparently also improve ovulation and egg quality, so I'm hopeful. I'm also on supplements, including Omega 3, Vitamin D3, Calcium/Magnesium and folic acid. My metformin and folic acid will be replaced by inofolic as from this week, so we'll see. Since I've started with these supplements, there was a dramatic improvement in my hormones, ovulation patterns and period, so it is indeed making a difference. I will also start with 50mg fertomid next cycle in preparation for the IUI in December, to start stimulating the ovaries to work. We are driving to PE for the IUI, and therefore I need to make sure I ovulate in order to do the IUI. Hold thumbs!!
Well, that's it in terms of the TTC journey. Apart from that, I am scheduled to write six textbooks for College level over the next 1 year. I've already started with two, so it is quite hectic. At the same time I'm teaching at the local college and finishing up with my last two modules at UNISA! Hectic hectic hectic! At least I've taken up Yoga and kick boxing to help with the stress of all this!
Hope you beautiful ladies have a wonderful day. I'll pop in as and when I can.
