Thank you ladies for the wonderful advice! I really appreicate it. I am happy to report (and I will knock/touch anything that even remotely looks like wood while I say this) that we are bum-rash-free! I tried the zinc and caster oil one and also milocort which seemed to do the trick.
Thanks so much for the advice, I really appreciate it!
Perhaps its time to take him to the paed... my LG had something similar and it ended up being a fungal something which required an antifungal cream... it also flares up when its hot and the area gets humid...
Perhaps try some Milocort from the pharmacy?

Zinc and castor oil from clicks and other pharmacies. Its inexpensive and worked well with my son when he had so bad his skin looked burnt. Also try getting nappy liners for him, sometimes the direct contact with the nappy(even disposable) can cause the rash to be worse. Try getting him those training pants from woolies (doesnt hold much pee but solids a bit) to air out his bums. Nappies can be hot even with the smallest pee, so put teething on top of the problem and you have endless rash at times.

Have you tried colloidal silver, with Bee natural bum balm over that (the one with the propolis). And nappyless often. Plus can be dairy intolerance, in which case you will need to cut out all dairy protein for at least two weeks.
