Glad to hear things are going so much better! I totally hear you about listening to baby to hear if she is sleeping and then we end not sleeping. LOL. It will get better and it won't be long before you get a couple of hours of solid sleep.
Things are going well here too. The only thing that we are battling with is that she is waking up every second or third morning anytime from 3:30 to 4:00....not funny. She is totally awake and all chatty. I am experimenting with putting her to bed later (like 19:00) but so far results are inconsistent. I suspect teething may be waking her perhaps. Anyway, we are light years away from how things used to go - so thankful for the improvement!
My first child started sleeping through the night consistently at age 3 with only waking perhaps once a month or if she is sick.
Thanks for you update and I hope things just keep improving for you guys. x
It's been almost 2 weeks now and a lot has changed baby steps but good steps. We not fighting anymore when she wants to sleep day or night I put her down in her cot and she is out in max 15 Minutes. Her day naps are a bit longer 40-60 minutes ( from the 30 minutes we started with) she goes to bed at 20:30 and previously she used to go at 23:00. She doesn't feed during the night anymore. She has only slept through the night once. Otherwise she wakes up once and goes back immeditetly after giving her the dummy (pacifier) Before I contacted good night baby she would wake up 3-4 times before 7. So I am still gonna go with it coz I am seeing major changes.
Funny part is that I am still exhausted coz I spend my time listening to her at night and hoping she doesn't take up lol I just need to relax coz she sleeps and I am awake hoping she doesn't wake up.
I am happy overall it's funny how I can just put her down and she just sleeps, she does play in the cot but she eventually sleeps

Murphy's law as I posted last week "SUCCESS" we had a bit of a backlash....She was just fighting and resisting sleep (especially day sleeps) after it was going so well. Even with the tougher times it is still light years away from when we started.
So on Sunday morning I discovered that her two bottom teeth finally popped out at 11 months. So perhaps that is why certain sleeps were slightly more challenging than others.
Anyway, she is still bubbly and chirpy and her relaxed self and still eating SOOO much better than before. Her appetite is like a bottomless pit now.
Wow! Congratulations with the pregnancy!!! I am so happy for you.
I understand that the Goodnight baby is based on the program by Dana Obleman. Reviewers on Amazon described her methods and I realised that it is very similar to the method in the South African "Sleep sense" book so I thought I would try that first and see how it goes.
Good luck to the other mommies here, let us know how it is going!
Wanted to hear how it went with the two new mommies that tried Goodnight baby?
We still sleep through the night we started when he was 7months old he is nou 16months.
We went through a dip when he fell ill and we had to sleep train again (just one night)
and all was fixed. I was still allowed to email the lady who helped me previously and she was happy to give me some pointers
I found that AMAZING no where these days anyone will assist you without asking for more money.
I am pregnant again and will be using the same techniques with my second one.
Gloeiwurmpie I also have the sleepsense book and it is very similar to what they teach you at goodnight baby.
Well done on doing it on your own and getting it right!
