It does sound like things are starting to happen though you sound a bit worried? Definitely a good thing then for you to go on the 22nd just to make sure all is 100%. I have had about 3 bouts of intense nausea and if that is a taste of morning sickness I can now understand what the complaints are about. I don't think it's going to become a fixture for me - touch wood!

I've decided to keep my appointment for the 21st as for some reason I feel anxious and just want to make sure that everything is ok. I'm actually feeling fine - little tired but who knows if that's due to pregnancy or long hours at work :(

Your family must be thrilled that you decided to move back. I am completely envious on the security side of things. What bliss! Good thinking on the dual citizenship. Any reason why Kamilah wouldn't be able to get Mauritian citizenship? How old is she? Is she at nursery school? My son Liam is 2.8 yrs. I would never have been able to do less than a 3yr age gap - I wouldn't have coped!

Stay well..

Hopefully we'll be having some more moms join us at some point..

Hi Cleo,

Sorry to hear that your appointment has been moved out. I am thinking of goin on the 22nd of September to see if all is ok. Yesterday according to my dates I was 6 weeks and 2 days and morning sickness kicked in. Its the same as my last pregnancy where I feel horribly sick in the evening and through the night. Been having headaches as well and quite tired too.

I am hoping that it is a good sign and that it means all is ok with this baby.

With regards to our move to Mauritius, this was always a possibility as I am Mauritian and all my family is here so we thought that it would be a good change especially since my hubby's side of the family have mostly immigrated as well so we did not have much family in SA.

Yesterday we were at the consulate of South Africa and hubby asked them if the new baby will be able to have a dual citizenship and they said yes so baby number 2 will be both South African and Mauritian. Now we are trying to get Kamilah's Mauritian citizenship sorted so she can also have dual citizenship. I want to leave as much avenues open for the kids coz one day they might want to come back to SA and it will then be a lot easier for them.

Will chat soon! Lots of love to you.

Hi,

Zodwa any news on the job front? How's the pregnancy going?

Nayeela how did you guys actually end up in Mauritius? As you say everything is so close! How you feeling?

I've had to move my appointment out to the 26 Sep which is a pain as I can't wait to find out just how many weeks I actually am.

I'm feeling ok though I wish those hormones would calm down to a bloody panic. I'm really having to try hard keeping a lid on the emotions. I'm getting weepy!!

Look after yourselves and chat soon.

Hi Cleo and Zodwa!

Zodwa - So sorry to hear about you predicament and I agree that retracting an offer even a verbal one is completely illegal. Hopefully you get youself sorted soon. When is you first scan?

Cleo - Good luck for your next scan :) I stay in Beau-Bassin (inland). We are about 30 minutes from Tamarin but then everything is 30 minutes away when you stay in Mauritius :) Lol! We were in SA for the last 8 years before making the move in Feb this year. I like it here. The food, people, climate, security etc.
I should be 6 weeks this sunday according to dates but agree with you that it does not yet feel real until I see this heartbeat. I am geting bouts of nausea here and there and also sore boobs. Get hungry every now and then but nothing out of line.

I am hoping to have a scan around the 27th of September. With my first I had the first scan at 6weeks5days and we picked up her heartbeat then. But gyane did tell me I was lucky because most people dont get to see a heatbeat until week 8 so am thinking lets just wait until a bit later just in case this coming week we dont see the heartbeat and I worry myself sick. I know I will :) lol!

So I'm a little frustrated not knowing how many months along so I'm averaging it and saying 6.5 wks (he got 2 readings - 5wks and 8wks). I see my gynae on the 21st again. It's funny how I feel just more stressed with this one. I think it's probably got to do with my need to have an amnio and the risks that goes with this. Anyway I'll make the decision once I know my risk factor - very early days still.

Ok new sympton is that I am hungry ALL the time! This is just terrible.....I put on an average amount with my first - just over 10k's but if I continue like this I'm going to be massive :( at least it's not crap I'm eating - alll healthy just lots of it...I tried going on the mom to be diet - I have NO idea how any pregnant mom is expected to survive on so little food!

I'm also very bloated. Emotions more under control but am just not as excited as I was with my first whereas my hubby just can't wait - checking my tummy out every day!

Nayeela where do you live in Mauritius? We went there on honeymoon but did it the very untraditional way. We rented a car, stayed at a self catering place owned by a riend of my hubbies in Tamarin Bay and got to experience the "real" Mauritius. The food was just an amazing mix of cuisine. We loved it..I remember you had a cake business.

I suppose our pregnancies will be more "real" once we've all had the "official" word.

As far as I'm concerned Moomie was never the same after that huge blow up that happened - was it last year? It's such a pity as the overseas sites are incredibly busy - it's just not the same talking to non-south africans though.

Keep well both of you and chat again.

OMG Zodwa that is illegal what they did! And putting it in an email is pretty short sighted as you could take them to court for this - I know that's the last thing you woud want to do but still..I always knew we would start trying this year but we decided to wait until after my probation - I started a new job in Jan. You are in a very difficult position..depending on what you do maybe there is a way of working around this. I was a freelancer with my first and they were fine with it as long as I could deliver. Where are you based?

Only the nicest people are born then :)

I remember Ruru being this seriously fast developer if I'm not mistaken - hope he's doing well.

Hi Cleo!! Yes, your son shares a birthday with me :)
Ruru is his name. I hvnt been on moomie in months either.

Hi Nayeela, hope you doing good, I'm really moody too. I hve NO patience for my son who constantly wants attention & feel like crying most of the time.

I'm in a bit of a predicament. I got retrenched in May, I went for a job interview last month which went incredibly well. Lady told me I got the job & all. Two days later she sent me an email saying she'd like a note from the doctor saying I'm in good health & not pregnant.
I had just found out the day before that I am pregnant.
I told her & obviously didn't get the job. I knw its discrimination & all but I hadnt signed a constract or anything yet.

Thing is I dnt know if I shld carry on looking..... companies always give a 3 month probation period & my fear is that once they realise I'm pregnant they might not take on full time.
Whats your take on this ladies?
