Hello Ladies,

Glad to hear everyone is well!

I've been quiet as I was in London for just over a week, and have been absolutely exhausted since I've returned. Managed to get an awesome Tommy Tippee Bottle Set in London, with a steamer and a bottle warmer etc, for only R1200. So, ya, I think I got carried away with the shopping :-)

My next visit to the doc is next week Sunday, for the 16 week. Hopefully we will be able to find out what baby's gender is. I have noticed that I have a little bump, not too sure if it is my belly or if I'm just fat, haha.

@Reese - yay for the clear results!!! Such a relief hey :) What is an MFM specialist? How precious that you get to use your older girls clothes, its going to be so cute! They are just going to absolutely dote on their little sisters! The only things I have bought are my newborn cloth diaper set which is just flats and covers and some of the ones that last to potty training, otherwise no purchases on our end either

How are the rest of you ladies?

@Jay - your scan is fast approaching now :woohoo:

So happy to hear Chanti! It's always nice to have everyone supporting you! Well done for staying strong!

I got my bloodtest results back for the Down's test and so happy to see that I am Low Risk for everything! I have heard so many mommies of twins that had a downs scare of at least one twin and then they have to make the difficult decision to do the amniocenteses testing. So I'm feelings to blessed and grateful for that!

My next appointment is at the MFM specialist on 7 March! My mom will be going with as DH wont be allowed to take off from work again. :-(
Cant wait for that appointment!

My MIL gave me a whole bag full of clothes that she kept from when my girls were little and I am so grateful that she kept it! Because even though its mostly 6-12 months, I can still use it for these two. It brought back so many memories...

We haven't started with the nursery or buying things yet. Still feel a little overwhelmed by it all. My mom will be doing the nursery for us this time so I will send pics as soon as its done. She's pretty amazing with these kind of things.

anyway, that's it form me...

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Morning Ladies!!

Did you all have a good weekend?

I had my scan on Friday and it was so incredible to see baby dancing around and to be able to measure its little legs and all of those wonderful things again! The scan honestly made me so happy and I had so much peace in my heart. We finally announced to the rest of the family and friends on the weekend and its so wonderful having people pray for you and baby and support you on this journey. My tummy is still so up and down! No bump yet! I can't wait to feel some flutters or movement in the next few weeks. Oh and we stayed strong and didn't find out the gender :)

@Reese - how cool that we are so close! Don't be disheartened yet! My good friend is tiny in build, she had a little scare at 27 weeks and was put onto bed rest until about 35 weeks, she was going for natural and those babies were so comfortable in there she eventually had a c sec at 42 weeks as it wasn't safe for them to stay in any longer! So even though she had that frustration of bed rest her little girls came out at 3.4 & 3.6 kg's not needing any oxygen or any time in NICU so don't be too scared. Be gentle with yourself especially from about 24 weeks I think, no long distance trips and no hectic activities, keep yourself relaxed and just allow your body to work at it's best ability. There is no reason why you can't make it to that 37 week mark, you got this mama!! One thing my friend battled with is that itchy rash that starts? Sign of liver struggling I think but her midwife had her drink a special tea and within a few days it was gone so if you get that just let me know and I will ask her what it was. Really amazing how it worked. She also used to use a wrap type thing on her belly when it went through the growth spurts and that seemed to help with the discomfort and feeling like the babies are going to burst out. I'm so glad the girls are healthy. I'm also pretty confident you will soon feel fine about the genders and will really start seeing how cute these two are going to be together. Do yourself a favour and look at twin newborn shoots, you will start daydreaming!!! Thanks so much, will update you ladies tomorrow and let you know if we managed to stay team green ?

@Carien, so happy to hear your baby girl is doing well! It's always so cute to see them. I remember freaking out at one of my appointments with my first DD, because she looked like an alien and I thought there was something wrong with her! I think I drove the doc crazy after that appointment because I kept on phoning and making sure that she was fine. They booked me for a 4D shortly after just so I can see for myself that she was okay and that it's just the ultrasound that makes everything look weird! We laugh about it today but I didn't think it was funny then! One very crazy first-time-mom I was!
Have you thought about names yet for the little one?

@Chanti - we are literally so close together (if I was going to go the full 40 weeks!) but doc told me yesterday that they will "book the C-section" for the 37th week but that I should not set my heart on it. They will be giving me steroid shots from week 28 and every second week thereafter to prepare the babies' lungs. But she told both my hubby and myself that most twin pregnancies she has had, the moms water broke anytime from 32 weeks.
So needless to say, I am very nervous. I like to plan things. She also said that my body will be stretching a lot in the next few weeks and babies will grow at a quick pace so she's not sure if my body will be able to accommodate them for too long seeing as I am not very big boned. So yes, I have a lot to prepare for. I honestly don't know how you can stay team green but I hope you stick it out if that is what you want. If you really do want to know, you can always ask the family and friends to still buy neutral things anyway and explain to them why. But follow your heart and good luck with tomorrow's scan! ;)

So yesterday's scan went okay. DH and I was both very quiet during the whole scan and didn't really speak much afterwards either. It was cute to see that both twins had their heads closely together and doc said they are cuddling each other. They kept trying to touch each other during the scan but the membrane was obviously in the way. I felt very detached through the whole thing. I had to relive the emotions and disappointment again, but DH seems to be okay. We are working through the feelings and he just said that he is happy with his girls. I'm still trusting God to help us through this time and to work in our hearts so we can start feeling excited about these two. My eldest cannot wait! She is so excited!

We're struggling with names... so if you ladies have any ideas of girl names... please let me know.

I went for my downs bloods yesterday as well. So will get the results on Monday probably.

@Chanti - good luck again on your scan tomorrow and enjoy it! Go team green!

@Jay - trust me I am so tempted to find out! I will prob ask hubby tonight one last time before the scan tomorrow! I'm just scared that if we find out then we will be tempted to tell others ? and I really want gender neutral things so that I can use them on the next baby should we be so lucky as to be blessed with more
