Hi, how is everyone? I need to catch up and read through the posts as missed rather a few.

@ Reece, you must've been dead mama walking! Would absolutely love to go to the Kruger Park, you so lucky.

@ Carien, I agree with you. I am a kind of strict routine mommy and we have friends who are "whatever goes" type of parents and its so different to our parenting that I wonder how it could ever work :)

AFM, went for my 12w4d scan and baby and I are in perfect health and Downs tests (blood and scan) came back excellent, shoo so glad.
Sonographer could see the baby's gender but I had her write the gender in a card and we are going to do our own mini reveal tonight over dinner. OOh cant wait!

@Reese, thanks for the info, so sorry to have to say that she lost her baby last night. I think the fact that she was bleeding so heavily just did not make for a healthy environment for the baby to grow, and the fact that the loop thing was tearing a hole into the placenta I can only imagine was also not a good thing. She is going in today for a D&C and sterilization. Guess they decided that this was not meant to be and that they would rather not have any more children. My heart is very sore for them. It is so hard to not take these things on and almost make it your reality, I am trying hard to feel sorry for them, not with them just so that I can carry on with my pregnancy and be happy and healthy. That is really all we can do right?

I also went to Dr. Ferrel, she is very nice and thorough. Sure you will have a good experience with her.

Sorry to hear the party went on longer than you would have liked. I try to say on invitations that the party is for 2 hours or something similar just so that ppl will actually leave. Thankfully most ppl do then actually leave which makes my life easier! We had some friends over at our house this weekend, we see them regularly b/c their kids are about the same age as ours, but OMG I am so happy to have my children and not theirs. I think I would have gone for a sterilization after the first. But also their parenting style is different from ours, every parent does it the best way they know how, and that is all I tell myself when I want to discipline their children when they hit or bite or pinch or whatever my kids as I know its not my place to do that. Anyway, they are great friends and we really enjoy their company. I dont know about you ladies but I find it very hard to have parent friends. We had a group of friends before we all had kids and everything was nice. Everyone got married and everyone started having kids and things just changed. There is very much a "them and us" type of mentality b/c some of our (old) friends intend on sending their kids to private school and we are going gov't grey. Its almost like they think less of us b/c we are doing gov't schools and therefore we dont see them any more really. I would rather have 1-2 good friends then have 5-10 "friends" who look down on us for our parenting choices.

Anyway, sorry, this msg just seems so negative, not my intention. How is everyone else doing? I have an apt on the 20th for my 20 week scan, but I need to cancel that and make it with a different place. Other than that we are just getting little bits of things together. I asked my sister in law to paint some fairies in the nursery which she said she would be happy to do, so thats nice, just have to move my little monkey out of there first.

Hope everyone else is well and had a nice weekend :)

HI all,

@Carien - it's so sad to hear about your friend. I really hope both she and baby will be okay. Must be so stressful and emotional for her!
So cute to hear about your DH buying the little one something. Very thoughtful of him.
The only one buying stuff for these two little ones is my mom! Every time she goes to the shops, she comes back with a onesie or some socks! :-)
My MFM at Pretoria East Netcare, her name is Elmarie Farrell. :-)

This weekend has been too much for me. It was my youngest's 4th birthday party and it was hectic! We got her a little kitten (it was a hello kitty party!) and she loves her little Mimi. :-) But the party carried on too long and people just didn't want to leave. Eventually when they left I just fell on the couch and started crying! My feet and legs were so swollen and sore! My back and butt were aching like I have never felt before. I could not get up from the couch and I couldn't walk! It took about 2 hours of light stretching and sitting just to be able to stand up for a little bit!
Just so happy that's over with!
This weekend we're going camping! (What the heck are we thinking????:headbang: ).... next weekend we're going away with some of hubby's colleagues at work and the weekend after that we're starting with the BIG MOVE! Moving my eldest to a different room so we can use her old room for the twins. And the last weekend of the month we will be going to the Kruger National Park! It seems we want to fit in whatever we can before the twins make their arrival, but I am starting to feel very scared of what lies ahead. Just feel that I am taking on too much.

My other concern is that I haven't felt Twin A move really. There was the tightening of my uterus every now and then, but I haven't felt any movements like with TWin B. Twin B is now a definite feeling - not only the flutters anymore. Guess we'll find out on Wednesday whats going on.

Ooohhh Jay-Bee, isn't your appointment today???

Anyways, I hope you all have a fabulous week!

Morning ladies, how is everyone doing? I have been on a planning session away from home for the past couple of days so will be trying to catch back up with everything today...work does unfortunately not stand still when you are out of office.

@Reese - its great to have a nice starting point with all the old clothes, and then you can reminisce and remember all those times with your older girls. Very exciting. My cousin who had the twin boys last year also gave me a box full of stuff she kept from her daughter, need to go through that and see what is in there too. My husband is pretty much buying something every time he goes to the mall which is kind of cute. With both my boys, I bought them each a soft toy when I found one that I felt was the right one for them. They are both so attached to those, it will be a cold night in hell if we are without Melmin and Hefelump at bedtime! I told my husband he should buy one for our daughter. He has so far just bought clothes, guess he will buy one when he connects with it :). Have you booked your apt with the MFM? Who is it if you dont mind me asking? I am actually asking for my friend, the one I told you guys about that got pregnant while she had the loop. She has been having so many issues. She has been in hospital twice this week for bleeding profusely. They have now found out that the loop has grown into the placenta and also into the uterus and so any movement she makes causes it to "wriggle" and tear a hole on either or both of its connection points causing her to bleed and have really severe pain. The doc doesnt really know what to do next. She has been put on bed rest for the rest of her pregnancy, only allowed to move around minimally, no driving nothing. She has two older children which makes this rather challenging, so she is wanting to get some second opinions. Her doc said they cant remove the loop thing bc if they try to, it will bring the placenta and therefore the baby with it. Anyway. I have told her about Prof Nicolau at Morningside, and then the doc at PTA East hospital, just want to give her more options if there are any.

@Sparky - very cool to have gotten those things, I also use tommee tippee bottles. With my first baby I did some research and found that they were recommended the most and started with them then, have not looked back. I will be breast feeding this one again, but when we go over to bottles, it will be tommee tippee.

@Chanti - very happy your scan went well, it is quite cool to see them do their thing in there. My first one was rather still, my 2nd one seemed to yawn a lot during scans and then this one is sucking her thumb. My first one had hick-ups all the time, and you could feel it, I knew it was hick-ups b/c I could feel them and later in my pregnancy you could actually see it on my stomach (bit weird when you first see it!). Our bodies are really amazing to be able to grow a whole human!! I use that quite frequently with anybody who gives me shit (mostly men) - "...are you growing or can you grow a human??!! Then shut up!!"

Anyway, not really much to report from me. I honestly think I was able to get away with saying I had a "good Christmas" till about monday and then since then I have looked really pregnant! Think I look really big too!! I know this is my 3rd baby and that I will be bigger sooner, just thought i was doing quite well till about 5 days ago. Guess it was bound to happen some time.

Also, I found this, it is rather funny if you guys have some time to scroll through it :) www.boredpanda.com/funny-pregnant-wife-p...paign=lmaomommy_paid

Have a great day/weekend :)

@Chanti - it is a Maternal-Fetal-medicine specialist, They normally specialises in multible births etc. They do very in depth testing and checking of babies to make sure they are healthy and normal. Apparently their technology and machine are out of this world! So I cant wait!

Wow Sparky! That's an amazing price for all those items! Good luck with the scan next sunday. Be sure to let us know what the gender is of baby. :-)
