Ctelly, I initially thought that the weekly appointments are a bit much, but rather do as Dr says, he knows better than I do.

Placenta calcification refers to calcium deposits that appear on the placenta. These calcium deposits indicate an “aging” of the placenta that occurs near the end of pregnancy. These deposits of calcium can cause certain small parts of the placenta to die. The calcium deposits may also cause some parts of the placenta to be replaced with fibrous tissue. The calcium deposits can also obstruct parts of the placenta with clots of maternal blood. They can also harden or block the maternal blood vessels. In most cases, placental calcification does not affect the functioning of the placenta, and the fetus is generally not harmed.

Morning Daerhel - what a disappointment :( so sorry to hear about your bad baby shower experience. Luckily its over and done with. did you get nice gifts at least ? I can just imagine how uninterested you are seeing the people again.. Good luck. Hope get to leave work a bit earlier today at least and have a wonderful wedding day tomorrow :) we're looking forward to the photos and hearing all about it.

Thanks for the info Prenessa.. wonder why travelling is restricted? I mean I sit for long periods behind my desk at work (if the sitting is the problem) and I drive around town (if the actual driving is the problem) I'll google a bit and just to make sure i'll phone the dr later today and ask if i'm allowed to travel. I'll be in my 35th week then.

Good Morning Ladies!!

Hope everyone had wonderful weekends.

I had a 'surprise' baby shower on Saturday with the family in Pretoria.
I must say tho, other than all the beautiful gifts, I was really disappointed. Most of the guests used it as an excuse to have a really good 'kuier', and some were already close to being more than just a little tipsy by the time I arrived. The result...: nobody really gave a hoot as to what pressies there were, or even the fact that I sat in a little corner with my mum and sister (who also didn't drink) for most of the afternoon.
I found it extremely distasteful and disrespectful. (Maybe it's just me, but I was really upset.)
Sorry for the rant by the way.

Now I sit here at work, my wedding less than 24 hours away, and I'm actually just wishing I could find a little hole, or a corner to crawl into and cry. I'm not feeling up to work today, and after Saturday's fiasco, also not looking forward to seeing DF's family later.

Gonna have to suck it up and just get through today, but I really really wish
I didn't have to...

Morning Ladies!

Meags, your photos are gorgeous!!
Stella, I hope you're feeling better, cannot imagine what it must be like to go through morning sickness again, especially during this stage of pregnancy!
Angie, hope your dad is doing better?

I had my checkup on Friday afternoon, Dr is very happy with me and baby. Amber is 2.35 kg's at the moment. He did notice tiny bits of calcification on placenta on Friday. He says it is something we need to check up on for the next few weeks. He says it is normal nearing the end of pregnancy and nothing to worry about.

I have another appointment again on Friday afternoon.
Have started washing baby's things, time is really running out!

Hi Ladies

Trust you all had an awesome weekend.

I wish you all a wonderful week ahead.

Ctelly, I was told by my gynae not to travel after 34 weeks.

Didn't really ask why.

Good morning Ladies, Hope you all had a great weekend? Angie how's your dad doing? Stella How's the morning sickness? what causes morning sickness in the 3rd trimester?
Are there any scans this week?

Ladies I'm going to Sabie next week (18th). Its about a 4hours drive. My mother had a concern and asked if i'm sure i'm allowed to travel being so close to due date.. any reason why I may not travel ? we'll stop frequently... only 20 more work days for me left at work - yeah!!

May you all have a wonderful day. Meags - your preggy photos are really gorgeous!!
