We have been TTC for 2 years. Im on clomid and DH on proxeed plus and staminogro. Been referred to FS in PTA east in February. Gynie will write report to FS week before appt. Can someone explain how the Iui process works? I read something about trigger shots? Do i do it myself or does FS do it? How many times in one cycle do you have to go in and see FS?
I also start medicated IUI in the next cycle.
I will be taking Fertomid, Gonal F, progynova and Ovitrell. I have an apt with FS on Day 9 which will possibly be in 3 weeks time. this will be to check follicle growth etc.
I asked the pharmacist about administering the Gonal F injections on CD 3,5,7 & 9. she has advised that most pharmacy clinics can do it. so I am planning to do my 1st injecton there so I can see exactly how it is done before doing it myself.
the Ovitrell (Trigger shot) will be done by my FS. when he decides I am ready.
this is also new to me, so I've been trying to do as much research as I possibly can.
even warned DH about the possible side effects(mood swings) of all the meds and injections.
TTC since 2014

Thanks MSR! This really helps me...so confusing and stressing out as to what FS is going to say. Our first appt only 13 Feb and when I count my days, I will probably be on CD 8 or 9 already. I assume he will probably put me on meds from the next cycle? So as to do the Gonal F injections etc?
Hey Daisy, Dischem had to order the injections for me. They do not always stock it. So just take that into account. Waiting period was 1 day. So not bad.
I think cd8 or 9 is a bit late to start meds. So maybe u will start from the next cycle.
IUI #1 was a fail for me. Dr has now asked me to do 1 more cycle with fertomid and IUI. I have my CD12 apt on Friday. This cycle I'm also doing traditional Chinese healing in the form of acupressure and dry cupping.
I also started taking CoQ10 which is meant to help with egg quality.
If IUI #2 is a fail then the Dr wants me to undergo a laprascopy to determine what's going on. I'm hoping it doesn't have to get to that point and #2 is a lucky 1 for us.
Wish u all the best
