I wouldn't do it any differently than what was prescribed. Especially with hormone medicine you never know what you may encounter. Perhaps taking it for shorter may cause you to wait longer for AF to arrive - thereby not gaining anything. Waiting another 3 days really isn't that long in the bigger scheme of things. Trust me, after 18 months of waiting I should know. :)

Hi Ladies,

Quick Question, my dr put me on provera 10mg for 10days. i have read online that some ladies take it for 5 days or for 7 days and then stop.
What would the difference be in the days we take it for?

Do you think it will be a problem if i take it for 7 days and stop...

I agree, the 10 days feels like forever. My 2nd time I used it, it took 9 days after the Provera was finished before AF started. And I was so impatient back then. So you can just imagine what went through my head. At least I'm more relaxed now (I think).

Thank You Meisiekind!

I am From Durban. I have found a pharmacy that has some Fertomid. I would love to get my hands on some Clomid tho. I dont know why but i hate taking generics... :/
If i have no choice then i will definately take the fertomid.

Im currently on the provera.. which is such a looong process and wait. 10 days is to long! *sigh* :S

TCS84, sorry to hear about miscarriage and terminated pregnancy. :( PCOS is a strange thing in that some people still ovulate and others don't. And sometimes it changes from one to the other. I pretty much never ovulate without meds, so understand your frustration. I'm sure Fertomid etc will be of great help to you too.

You didn't say where you are from. If you're from Cape Town, try the M-kem 24 hour pharmacy just of the N1 at the Durban Road turn off. Of all the pharmacies I've tried before, I've only once not been able to get the meds from them.
