Hi, don't worry to much he probably had not set scan dates as that will all depend on the day your period starts. I presume that you give them a call on the first day of your period and then they will instruct further?
In regards to acupuncture, I think give it a try it cant do any harm. I really don't know much about it except that some of the ladies on the trying to conceive forum does acupuncture in combination with their fertility treatment.
The other thing that I would like you to remember is that we pay these Fertility Specialists a heap load of money, so don't feel bad to call the doctor and ask if you have any questions or if you are unsure of anything. Any good FS ( fertility Specialist ) will be happy to answer your questions.

Hi BamBino, I am sorry to hear that you have are not able to conceive naturally and that you have to do IVF I know that this is extremely scary!!! But I would also like to let you know its worse in your head than it actually is.

We have a different problem as my DH ( dear husband ) does not produce enough sperms for us to be able to fall pregnant naturally. and we did out first IVF in May and I am now pregnant with our first little one. Of course we count ourselves lucky to have gotten pregnant with the first try but just so that you know its not impossible the first time round.

Every case is different and every cycle will differ but to give you an idea here is how things went with me ( please keep in mind that CD means Cycle Day and CD1 is the first day of your menstrual cycle )
Also I live in Namibia so did my scan with my Gyni here and then travelled to Cape Town for the actual IVF

17 Mei: CD1 First Scan( Scan usually on CD 3 but that would have been a Sunday and my Gyni does not work on a Sunday )
20 Mei: CD4 First Gonal-F 150ml injection ( I inject this every day for 5 days )
23 Mei: CD 7 Second Scan( this is usually on CD8 but as we had to leave for CT we asked to do this a day early
24 Mei: CD 8 arrived in CT and went straight to the Fertility Clinic where we got a few more days worth Gonal-F injections as well as Citrotide ( the citrotide stops your from Naturally Ovulationg )
25 Mei: CD10 another scan
27 Mei: CD 11 ( this was the last day of my Gonal-F and Citrotide injections ) another scan where they where happy with my follies size and they gave me a Trigger Shot that I had to take at 11:30 that night do that we could do the eg retrieval on CD 13
29 Mei: CD 13 Egg Retrieval 6 eggies
30 Mei: CD 14, 5 egges fertilized one too immature to fertilise
31 Mei: CD 15, 3 embryos growing well 2 growing slowly
01 June: CD 16, 3 good embryos 1 did not progress further so was discarded 1 was growing slowly
02 June: CD 17, 1 excellent 2 good 1 slow growing
03 June: CD 18, Egg Transfer on day 5 they put back one grade 5 blastocyst and one grade 4 blastocyst.
06 June CD 21 back in Namibia
09 June: CD 24 did a home pregnancy test and it was negative ( 6dp5dt)
10 June: CD 25 did a home pregnancy test and it was negative( 7dp5dt)
13 June: CD 28 Beta count 116 ( that means its a positive blood test result )

The best is do not try to plan this to much as your body will go at its own pace and you can not determine before hand how quickly or slowly your body reacts.
Do not stress when your body does not react the way you want it to keep calm and go with the flow.
Don't worry about the Egg Retrieval you will be sedated and wont remember a thing :)
When they put the embies back it takes like 5min and is totally painless!!

A Big a hug to you and as difficult as this may be try to keep calm and positive.
