Hi Ladies!

I feel as moms we need to educate ourselves about what is appropriate behaviour for each phase and sometimes may come to realise that our attitudes and understandings may be off target. I really found the following website helpful to understand how these difficult emotions for young ones can be better handled by parents:

www.ahaparenting.com/ages-stages/toddlers

xx

I am actually going to re-read it myself as I am faced with a very strong willed one year old!! :woohoo:

Hi Joanne,

My lg turned 2 in May, there really isnt much you can do, I try and ignore her sometimes, but then she screams louder, does the whole kicking and screaming thing etc. Dont worry, its normal lol, at some point it will get easier, so they say haha

Thanks Liefie, it is true they do not understand that we are just thinking of their best interests.

I am just at my wits end as my husband thinks that this behaviour is not normal, and that there is something wrong with my LB.

I will try to distract him, but he has a very strong personality and boy if he wants to do something he wants to do it. It is a great trait but making life a bit difficult for mommy right now.

Hi there!

I also struggled with this and to be honest trying to talk to them or giving them time out just didn't work for our little boy
He is too young to understand it yet so best that I can say is try distraction, when you see one coming along try and take
his attention away from what is upsetting him.

Always make sure he is not tired or hungry...

Good luck the phase does pass (and yes it comes back again and again)
