Thank you, yes, I might seem crazy to some, but the crazy for me was that doctors and hospitals sent me away. I had to go to extremes to not be cut again. Thank you for reading my story :cheer:

Hi Alikimom,

Wow, what a story!!! Seems more like a suspense and action movie instead of comedy?!!! :silly:
I agree with the other ladies, I think you have to have nerves of steel to willingly have the first part of labor while driving for a couple of hours!

Your story is very inspiring yet I find it sad that you had to go these extremes to have a natural birth in our country. It shouldn't be this way. I also find it sad that there are very few opportunities for moms to have a "good chance" of having a gentle and calm birth environment to birth in peace at an affordable cost in our country. My VBAC cost me in the region of R7000 in fees that were not covered by my Classic comprehensive Discovery health plan option to have a gentle birth VBAC experience.
Something is seriously wrong with the birth system in South Africa!

With my own birth I hoped the water would offer more pain relief than it did - however it is such a "short" time that one endures the intense sensations (and your brain has a way to forget it later.... strangely).

Thank you for sharing your birth story and enjoy your bundle of joy!!
