heart Newborn Baby stomach cramps

1 year 7 months ago #277910 by kinghorn
Good day

Our little Girl was born 2 weeks ago. This is our first baby. I am breastfeeding. All is going very well, but she has very bad stomach cramps after feeding. I do burp her during a feed to make sure no wind gets trapped, but she still has pain on her stomach. She also spits up some milk now and again. I try and keep her upright for a while after feeding.

Is this normal and what can I do.

Many thanks
Gale

Hi Nikita

I am giving her Telament Colic drops. Not with every feed, but in the morning and evening. Don't want to give her too much of it. Looks like it working.

Hi Gale,

Telament drops are great and think you can use it up to 6 x a day if i am not mistaken. I also used the Lennon's Behoedmiddel and sometimes I mixed the Telament drops with the Behoedmiddel.
I don't really check what I eat, but the one day I had a tomato pasta and must say that my baby had terrible cramps that day. At least i had frozen BM so that helped. I also only have 2 cups of coffee a day and maybe one cup of normal tea, and after that it is only water and rooibos tea for me. I also limit the gassy foods, but i don't cut it out of my diet. Like i said i really don't check what i eat, but i now know that i can't have a lot of tomatoes.
You can also purchase those inclined sleep positioners.

The cramps, winds and hiccups does get better. My baby is 4 months old now and he is doing much better.

Ask if you need any advice xx

Thank you so much for your advise. Really appreciate it. Eating as healthy as possible and staying away of the onions and tomatoes.
